Large Green Quartz Empire Pendant

  The green Empire Pendant is a beautiful quartz specimen. It is clean, clear of visible inclusions and does not contain the cracks and fissure’s normally seen in most quartz.

   Which means it is top of the line in quality quartz, and a very rich green that is not a film or dye, but is apart of the gemstone itself.

   The Empire Pendant is also double pronged on each corner and framed in 14 gage sterling silver in what is known as the double basket setting (twice as strong). The empire pendant’s size is 25x40mm.   

   This all natural green quartz pendant has a duel purpose: first, it can be worn, or resold ‘as is’. Second, it can be made into a custom set of simple or very elaborate design.

   If I were to make a simple design I would focus on just the chain. I would probably build some rectangle chain links from my Claw Tails in 3 or 4 “links” on either side of the pendant, and then just build the remainder of the chain in tapered rectangles to match the pendant. Also, this type of non-accented pendant wears very well with accented or bold chains. By ‘chains’ I mean also beading. White MOP rice beads or white agate mixed with other green beading would build a beautiful ‘chain’ for this pendant. Plain pendants wear well with accented beadworks and it is a good way to merge both beadwork and faceted gemstones into 1 beautiful piece.

   That’s turning a simple pendant into a very valuable work of art in short order. And many times, this is the way you have to look for the pendants. Create not just ‘bling’, but value on top of value.
