  Which is another VERY good reason that you should shop with MrGemStoneEyes; much of our jewelry has already been tested in our own store and we sort of know what types will work and which will not.

   So we stock the types that do.

   While the name of MoonStone is popular, without the blue translucence showing through the “clouds” then the material is not so valuable.

   Buying it from the web is even harder as some larger stones will show white, but when turned, they show the blue. Without knowing your source, you will not know if it is the plain or has the blue.  

   Here’s another popular pendant and earring set in Moonstone. The batch was made using some of the highest quality moonstone I have seen in some time. Even the photo’s show the luster pretty well, and this gives you a good idea as to the quality.

   We have made a number of different pieces of jewelry using the MoonStone, and each one usually sells fairly well. But it does seem that the smaller pieces of the moonstone work the best in resells. Elaborate builds just seem to be to expensive for an all white piece of jewelry. Which is what it looks like from a distance.

   But the smaller cabochons seem to allow in enough light to actually show the translucent materials inside the gemstone. So obtaining the highest quality moonstone is critically important, as one type sells well and another type is “put back” on the display shelf time and time again.
